Close climate software deals with German cities.
As Senior Account Executive, you'll work alongside our founder Ruth and the Go-To-Market team to turn qualified leads into closed customers. Instead of a large sales department, you'll join a lean, dynamic team in a pre-seed startup environment. Combining our sales playbook with your own experience, you will be at the core of our growth engine and close customers all across Germany.
Your responsibility ranges from discovery to deal closing. Leads are mainly generated outbound and qualified by our SDRs. We have sales cycles of 3-4 months, incredible fast for the public sector. Stakeholders involve climate managers, department heads, IT, procurement, and sometimes even politicians. Your challenge is to understand their needs, pitch our offer and guide our clients through the procurement process.
Your challenge:
- Manage the sales process from discovery to closure. Discover customer needs and present how our tool addresses them, negotiate contracts and close deals
- Meet or exceed our sales targets. Close customers. This is the heart of the role, consistently win 4-5-figure recurring SaaS contracts that fuel our growth.
- Master the municipal stakeholder landscape. Run effective discovery and demonstrate the value our tool brings to the different stakeholders with need varying from efficiency to data insights to public visibility.
- Feed product with market signal. Collect customer feedback and bring it back to our product team. You're the customers voice within Ark.
What you bring along
Your profile:
We're looking for an experienced closer who's energized by complex b2b/ b2g deals and ready to make an immediate impact. Here's what makes you the right fit:
- Sales experience: 3 to 5 years in B2B or (ideally) B2G SaaS sales at a startup or scale-up, with a track record of consistently closing 4-5-figure deals.
- Closing chops: You're strong on discovery, qualification, demo, negotiation, and orchestrating decisions across multiple stakeholders.
- Public sector instinct: Experience selling to municipalities, public administrations, or other complex multi-stakeholder buyers, or the curiosity and patience to learn fast.
- Coaching mindset: You enjoy feedback and learning as well as making the people around you better, you have coached peers or junior colleagues before.
- Climate passion: A deep interest in sustainability and empowering cities to take climate action.
- Language: Excellent German and English. German is essential for engaging municipal customers.
